Disposable makeup testers are the ideal solution for manufacturers of cosmetic products that want to supply the points of sale with throwaway samples. They offer customers a safe, hygienic and contagion-proof testing method over the entire product range in a nice customizable format and are fully standard-compliant. Actually, using single-use samples eliminates the risk of transferring pathogenic germs.

The recent COVID-19 pandemic has brought back to public attention the long-standing issue of the risk of bacterial and viral contamination following contact with makeup testers in beauty shops. Noticeably, this risk does not involve Coronavirus only. As already anticipated in a 2014 article published in the website of the Italian Biologists Association, test products made available in beauty shops often are breeding grounds for pathogenic bacteria, including remarkably dangerous germs such as Herpes Simplex and E. Coli, as found by the mentioned study over a tester percentage of 67 to 100%.

The solution to this problem is using strictly disposable throwaway cosmetic testers and test samples that are bound to be used by one customer only. The disposable cosmetic sample technology applies to many product types: from lipsticks to blush and foundations, and is based on packagings that are hygienic and attractive at the same time.

The machines for the manufacture of disposable makeup samples can be fitted with different types of dosing heads, depending on the type of product, and consequently can process a wide range of throwaway test samples for beauty shops, such as:

• Disposable micro lipsticks for testing at the point of sale:  their style is exactly the same as ordinary lipsticks, but their size is extremely small; they are suitable for single use as promotional items;
• Lipstick matches especially meant for trying samples at the beauty shop: they are plastic sticks with their heads bearing a single dose of lipstick that can be easily applied as a one-use test;
• Disposable lipstick, blush or foundation blisters to test the product; they are sealed blisters containing one drop of the product poured directly into the plastic cup and come complete with a single-use mini-brush.
